Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) is the implementing agency for the development of a Smart City, Konza Techno City (KTC), a flagship project under the Kenya Vision 2030. The Government plans that Konza Techno City grows into a sustainable, worldclass technology hub with a vibrant mix of businesses, workers, residents and urban amenities. It is anticipated that the project will create 16,675 jobs in the medium term and over 200,000 on completion thereby positioning Kenya as a Technology hub.

The project is 70 km far from Nairobi.
Phase 1 insists on a project area of 410 acres (approx. 170 hectares) and involves the development of the first part of a global project to create a city with more than 200,000 inhabitants on an area of 5,000 acres (2,000 hectares).
